What activities are involved?
Ø Learning about the basic electronic building blocks that combine to make systems.
We use Electronic Sentences to assemble a working system from individual blocks. The words on each block combine to form a sentence which describes how the function of the system. The examples show:
n If it is light > pulses are made to > sound the alarm
n If a magnet is near > or the button is pressed > do not > sound the alarm
We also use computer software called Control Studio to construct 'virtual' electronic systems.

Ø Investigating
and building small circuits on prototyping board (breadboarding).
Ø We also use simulation software (Livewire) to understand how circuits work and explore the effect of altering component values. The following diagram has be produced automatically from the Control Studio system shown above.
